Three equipment categories cover almost every heated home across Raleigh and the Triangle. Each one opens to a hub with repair, maintenance and seasonal tune-up options.
For ducted Raleigh and Triangle homes with gas heat. We service and repair every major brand: combustion analyzed, heat exchanger inspected, gas pressure verified. The $72 diagnostic credits toward the repair if you go ahead.
Year-round equipment, winter service. When the heating side acts up — weak warm airflow, defrost cycle issues, auxiliary heat not engaging — we diagnose properly and write the repair price before any work begins.
Ductless heat pumps that heat and cool from one unit. We service mini-splits whoever installed them, and we install Daikin and Goodman.
A few patterns we hear most in the winter. Any one of them is reason enough to schedule a diagnostic.
The thermostat is set, but nothing fires up, or it starts and quits right away.
Same usage, same thermostat, noticeably higher utility statement.
Heat blasts for a minute, shuts off, starts again. The house never quite settles.
A bedroom, a finished basement, a bonus room over the garage.
Something is preventing a clean start. Often a sensor, an igniter, or a gas-pressure issue.
Leave the house and call 911 first. Then call us so we can diagnose properly.
We diagnose properly, write the price before any work begins, and tell the truth about whether it's repair or replacement.
Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available. After hours, you reach our team.
Three instruments, on every heating call. Here is what each one tells us, in plain language.
Gas pressure read at the manifold, flame characteristics observed, and the heat exchanger inspected with a borescope camera rather than condemned from the driveway.
If we ever tell you the heat exchanger is cracked, we'll show you the picture. If we can't see a crack, we don't condemn the part.
What it means: The cracked heat exchanger is the most common upsell in residential HVAC. A photograph is how you tell a diagnosis from a sales pitch.
Igniters, flame sensors, contactors and blower draw, read against the manufacturer's own spec rather than against how the part looks.
A capacitor reading 12 µF against a 35 µF spec — that's the failure. Not a symptom.
What it means: You pay to fix the part that's actually broken, not the expensive one someone guessed at.
Static pressure and airflow across the system. Undersized returns and leaking ducts cause the same cold back bedroom that a failing furnace does, and cost a great deal less to fix.
What it means: Sometimes the answer isn't a new system. If your system has years left in it, we'll say so.
| What is being compared | A typical call | A Tru72 call |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnosis | Guess first. Swap the part that usually fails and see whether it holds. | Measure first. Combustion, static pressure and electrical draw read before anything is quoted. |
| The heat exchanger | Condemned on sight, and the visit becomes a replacement quote. | Inspected with a borescope. No photo of a crack, no condemned part. |
| Repair or replace | Replace first. A repair on an older system becomes a replacement quote. | Diagnose first. If your system has years left in it, we'll say so. |
| Sizing a replacement | Same size as the old one, right or wrong. | Manual J load calculation against your actual home — square footage, ceiling heights, windows, insulation. |
| The price | A number at the end of the visit, after the work. | Flat-rate, in writing, before a wrench turns. The $72 diagnostic credits toward it. |
What it means: An oversized system wears out in half the time. Measuring is how you avoid buying one.
Five steps, every time, whether it's a flame sensor or a heat exchanger.
Online or by phone. Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available, and after hours you reach our team.
$72 flat to come out and find the actual fault. Combustion analyzed, heat exchanger inspected, gas pressure verified, electrical draw measured.
The repair price in plain terms, in writing, before any work begins. The $72 credits toward it if you go ahead.
The fault gets fixed — not the part next to it. Every major brand of gas furnace and heat pump; mini-splits whoever installed them.
We re-measure after the repair, so you know the system is performing before we leave.
We service every major brand. When a system does need replacing, these are the two we install — and here is why each one is worth having.
Inverter-driven, ultra-quiet, high-SEER2
Daikin is the global leader in heat pump technology. Inverter-driven variable-speed operation matches output to demand minute by minute, so you get tighter temperature control, lower operating noise and stronger efficiency.
Solid efficiency, strong warranty, accessible price
Goodman is the workhorse of the Daikin family in North America. Systems that hit modern efficiency targets at an approachable price point, with a warranty among the strongest in the industry — which matters when the system needs to last 15 to 20 years.
What it means: SEER2 is the efficiency rating on the label. A higher number means the same heating and cooling for less electricity.
Two seasonal tune-ups, 10% off any repair, 5% off new systems, no after-hours fees, priority scheduling when the cold snap hits. $14.99 a month or $180 a year per system. Free for first responders, teachers, and military through the Mission Ready Plan.
If the diagnostic points at replacement rather than repair, this is the money that is already on the table. We check it before you commit to anything.
| Program | What it covers | Amount |

| ENERGY STAR Rebate Finder | Certified systems, cross-referenced against your ZIP code | Depends on the manufacturer and utility offers live that month |
| Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit | Qualifying high-efficiency equipment, administered by the IRS | Consult your tax professional |

Whether you qualify depends on your household and the equipment. We'll check it on the visit, before you commit to anything.
Central air, heat pumps and mini-splits when the weather turns the other way.
Everything we do across Raleigh and the Triangle, in one place.
The same standard, the same $72 diagnostic, on the Charlotte side.
The questions homeowners ask most often when they call about heating.
A flat fee to come out, properly diagnose what's wrong, and write the repair price in plain terms before any work begins. If you go ahead with the repair, the $72 credits toward the work.
Yes for ducted equipment: every major brand of gas furnace and heat pump. We install Daikin and Goodman. For ductless mini-splits, we service systems whoever installed them, and we install Daikin and Goodman.
It depends on the system's age, the repair cost, and the condition of the heat exchanger and the rest of the unit. We measure first, give you the data, then give you the choice. Not every system should be replaced, and not every repair turns into a sales pitch.
Our team answers after-hours calls 24/7 and dispatches emergency service when a system fails outside business hours. Tru Comfort members pay no after-hours fee. If you smell gas or your CO alarm has gone off, leave the house and call 911 first, then us so we can diagnose properly.
