  • Every major brandWe install Daikin and Goodman.

Pick the system you have.

Three equipment categories cover almost every home across Raleigh and the Triangle. Each one opens to a hub with repair, maintenance and seasonal tune-up options.

  • Air Conditioning

For ducted Raleigh and Triangle homes. We service and repair every major brand: refrigerant pressures measured, static pressure read, electrical draw verified. The $72 diagnostic credits toward the repair if you go ahead.

  • Heat Pumps

Year-round equipment, summer service. When the cooling side acts up — short cycling, weak airflow, refrigerant issues — we diagnose properly and write the repair price before any work begins.

  • Ductless Mini Splits

Ductless for additions, conversions or zoned rooms. We service mini-splits whoever installed them, and we install Daikin and Goodman.

Tell us what you're noticing.

A few patterns we hear most in the summer. Any one of them is reason enough to schedule a diagnostic.

  • The upstairs won't cool.

The thermostat is set, the unit's running, but the second floor stays warm.

  • The bill jumped this summer.

Same usage, same thermostat, noticeably higher utility statement.

  • It runs, but the air isn't cold.

Vents blowing, but the house never drops to the set point.

  • One room is always hotter.

A bedroom, a sunroom, a bonus room over the garage.

  • Ice on the line, or a frozen coil.

Usually a refrigerant or airflow problem — not a sign to thaw it and restart.

  • Noises you didn't hear last year.

Hums, rattles, hissing, or short cycling on a hot afternoon.

We diagnose properly, write the price before any work begins, and tell the truth about whether it's repair or replacement.

Hot house today?

Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available. After hours, you reach our team.

We don't guess. We test.

Three instruments, on every cooling call. Here is what each one tells us, in plain language.

  1. We measure the electrical.

Capacitors, contactors and compressor draw, read against the manufacturer's own spec rather than against how the part looks.

    A capacitor reading 12 µF against a 35 µF spec — that's the failure. Not a symptom.

What it means: You pay to fix the part that's actually broken, not the expensive one someone guessed at.

  2. We measure the refrigerant.

Pressures and temperatures at the coil, not a glance at the gauges. A system low on charge and a system with a blocked coil look identical from the driveway.

What it means: Adding refrigerant to a leak is a repair you pay for twice. Measuring first tells us which one you have.

  3. We measure the air.

Static pressure and airflow across the system. Undersized returns and leaking ducts cause the same hot upstairs bedroom that a failing compressor does, and cost a great deal less to fix.

What it means: Sometimes the answer isn't a new system. If your system has years left in it, we'll say so.

How most cooling calls go. How ours go.

How a typical cooling service call compares with a Tru72 cooling service call
What is being comparedA typical callA Tru72 call
DiagnosisGuess first. Swap the part that usually fails and see whether it holds.Measure first. Pressures, static pressure and electrical draw read before anything is quoted.
Repair or replaceReplace first. A repair on an older system becomes a replacement quote.Diagnose first. If your system has years left in it, we'll say so.
Sizing a replacementSame size as the old one, right or wrong.Manual J load calculation against your actual home — square footage, ceiling heights, windows, insulation.
The priceA number at the end of the visit, after the work.Flat-rate, in writing, before a wrench turns. The $72 diagnostic credits toward it.

What it means: An oversized system wears out in half the time. Measuring is how you avoid buying one.

What a service call actually looks like.

Five steps, every time, whether it's a capacitor or a compressor.

  1. Schedule

Online or by phone. Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available, and after hours you reach our team.

  2. Diagnose

$72 flat to come out and find the actual fault. Refrigerant pressures measured, static pressure read, electrical draw verified.

  3. Quote

The repair price in plain terms, in writing, before any work begins. The $72 credits toward it if you go ahead.

  4. Repair

The fault gets fixed — not the part next to it. Every major brand of central air and heat pump; mini-splits whoever installed them.

  5. Verify

We re-measure after the repair, so you know the system is performing before we leave.

Two brands. One family.

We service every major brand. When a system does need replacing, these are the two we install — and here is why each one is worth having.

  • Daikin

    Inverter-driven, ultra-quiet, high-SEER2

Daikin is the global leader in heat pump technology. Inverter-driven variable-speed operation matches output to demand minute by minute, so you get tighter temperature control, lower operating noise and stronger efficiency.

  • Goodman

Solid efficiency, strong warranty, accessible price

Goodman is the workhorse of the Daikin family in North America. Systems that hit modern efficiency targets at an approachable price point, with a warranty among the strongest in the industry — which matters when the system needs to last 15 to 20 years.

What it means: SEER2 is the efficiency rating on the label. A higher number means the same cooling for less electricity.

A few things worth knowing.

The questions homeowners ask most often when they call about cooling.

What's the $72 diagnostic?

A flat fee to come out, properly diagnose what's wrong, and write the repair price in plain terms before any work begins. If you go ahead with the repair, the $72 credits toward the work.

Do you work on every brand?

Yes for ducted equipment: every major brand of central air and heat pump. We install Daikin and Goodman. For ductless mini-splits, we service systems whoever installed them, and we install Daikin and Goodman.

Should I repair or replace my AC?

It depends on the system's age, the repair cost, and the condition of the rest of the unit. We measure first, give you the data, then give you the choice. Not every system should be replaced, and not every repair turns into a sales pitch.

What about after-hours emergencies?

Our team answers after-hours calls 24/7 and dispatches emergency service when a system fails outside business hours. Tru Comfort members pay no after-hours fee. Non-members pay a standard after-hours surcharge over the $72 diagnostic.
