Pick the system you have.

Three equipment categories cover almost every heated home in the Charlotte metro. Each one opens to a hub with repair, maintenance and seasonal tune-up options.

  • Gas Furnace

For ducted Charlotte homes with gas heat. We service and repair every major brand: combustion analyzed, heat exchanger inspected, gas pressure verified. The $72 diagnostic credits toward the repair if you go ahead.

  • Heat Pumps

Year-round equipment, winter service. When the heating side acts up — weak warm airflow, defrost cycle issues, auxiliary heat not engaging — we diagnose properly and write the repair price before any work begins.

  • Ductless Mini Splits

Ductless heat pumps that heat and cool from one unit. We service mini-splits whoever installed them, and we install Daikin and Goodman.

Tell us what you're noticing.

A few patterns we hear most in the winter. Any one of them is reason enough to schedule a diagnostic.

  • The heat won't come on.

The thermostat is set, but nothing fires up, or it starts and quits right away.

  • The bill jumped this winter.

Same usage, same thermostat, noticeably higher utility statement.

  • The system short cycles.

Heat blasts for a minute, shuts off, starts again. The house never quite settles.

  • One room is always colder than the others.

A bedroom, a finished basement, a bonus room over the garage.

  • Ignition keeps trying, or the pilot won't stay lit.

Something is preventing a clean start. Often a sensor, igniter, or gas-pressure issue.

  • You smell gas, or the carbon monoxide alarm went off.

Leave the house and call 911 first. Then call us so we can diagnose properly.

We diagnose properly, write the price before any work begins, and tell the truth about whether it's repair or replacement.

Cold house today?

Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available. After hours, you reach our team.

We don't guess. We test.

Three instruments, on every heating call. Here is what each one tells us, in plain language.

  1. We look inside the heat exchanger.

A borescope camera goes in and we look at the metal, instead of reading the symptom and condemning the part. Cracked heat exchanger is the most common upsell in residential HVAC.

What it means: If we ever tell you the heat exchanger is cracked, we'll show you the picture. If we can't see a crack, we don't condemn the part.

  2. We measure the combustion.

Gas pressure verified at the manifold, burner flame characteristics observed, combustion analyzed. A furnace that is starving for gas and a furnace with a dirty flame sensor both look like a furnace that keeps shutting off.

What it means: The two faults cost very different amounts to fix. Measuring first is how you find out which one you're paying for.

  3. We measure the air.

Static pressure and airflow across the system. Undersized returns and leaking ducts cause the same cold back bedroom that a failing furnace does, and cost a great deal less to fix.

What it means: Sometimes the answer isn't a new system. If your system has years left in it, we'll say so.

How most heating calls go. How ours go.

How a typical heating service call compares with a Tru72 heating service call
What is being comparedA typical callA Tru72 call
DiagnosisGuess first. Swap the part that usually fails and see whether it holds.Measure first. Gas pressure, combustion, static pressure and electrical draw read before anything is quoted.
The heat exchangerCondemned from the symptom. The repair call becomes a replacement quote.Inspected with a borescope. If we can't see a crack, we don't condemn the part.
Repair or replaceReplace first. A repair on an older system becomes a replacement quote.Diagnose first. If your system has years left in it, we'll say so.
Sizing a replacementSame size as the old one, right or wrong.Manual J load calculation against your actual home — square footage, ceiling heights, windows, insulation.
The priceA number at the end of the visit, after the work.Flat-rate, in writing, before a wrench turns. The $72 diagnostic credits toward it.

What it means: An oversized system short cycles all winter and wears out in half the time. Measuring is how you avoid buying one.

What a service call actually looks like.

Five steps, every time, whether it's a flame sensor or a heat exchanger.

  1. Schedule

Online or by phone. Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available, and after hours you reach our team.

  2. Diagnose

$72 flat to come out and find the actual fault. Gas pressure verified at the manifold, combustion analyzed, heat exchanger inspected, static pressure read, electrical draw checked.

  3. Quote

The repair price in plain terms, in writing, before any work begins. The $72 credits toward it if you go ahead.

  4. Repair

The fault gets fixed — not the part next to it. Every major brand of gas furnace and heat pump; mini-splits whoever installed them.

  5. Verify

We re-measure after the repair, so you know the system is performing before we leave.

Two brands. One family.

We service every major brand. When a system does need replacing, these are the two we install — and here is why each one is worth having.

  • Daikin

    Inverter-driven, ultra-quiet, high-SEER2

Daikin is the global leader in heat pump technology. Inverter-driven variable-speed operation matches output to demand minute by minute, so you get tighter temperature control, lower operating noise and stronger efficiency.

  • Goodman

Solid efficiency, strong warranty, accessible price

Goodman is the workhorse of the Daikin family in North America. Systems that hit modern efficiency targets at an approachable price point, with a warranty among the strongest in the industry — which matters when the system needs to last 15 to 20 years.

What it means: A variable-speed system runs long and low instead of blasting and stopping. That is what stops the back bedroom from swinging five degrees between cycles.

A few things worth knowing.

The questions homeowners ask most often when they call about heating.

What's the $72 diagnostic?

A flat fee to come out, properly diagnose what's wrong, and write the repair price in plain terms before any work begins. If you go ahead with the repair, the $72 credits toward the work.

Do you work on every brand?

Yes for ducted equipment: every major brand of gas furnace and heat pump. We install Daikin and Goodman. For ductless mini-splits, we service systems whoever installed them, and we install Daikin and Goodman.

Should I repair or replace my furnace?

It depends on the system's age, the repair cost, and the condition of the heat exchanger and the rest of the unit. We measure first, give you the data, then give you the choice. Not every system should be replaced, and not every repair turns into a sales pitch.

What about after-hours emergencies?

Our team answers after-hours calls 24/7 and dispatches emergency service when a system fails outside business hours. Tru Comfort members pay no after-hours fee. If you smell gas or your CO alarm has gone off, leave the house and call 911 first, then us so we can diagnose properly.
